Aluminum Scandium Alloy
Aluminum Scandium Alloys are available as bar, Ingot, ribbon, wire, shot, sheet, and foil. Ultra-high purity and high purity forms include aluminum scandium alloy powder, submicron powder and nanoscale, thin-film deposition targets, and pellets for chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and physical vapor deposition (PVD) applications. AEM REE produces too many standard grades when applicable, including Mil Spec (military grade). ACS, Reagent, and Technical Grade. Food, Agricultural, and Pharmaceutical Grade. Optical Grade, USP and EP/BP (European Pharmacopoeia/British Pharmacopoeia) and follows applicable ASTM testing standards.

Aluminum Scandium Alloy Applications
1. Used for minor aerospace industry components. The common content is 2% scandium. The addition of scandium to aluminum limits the excessive grain growth that occurs in the heat-affected zone of welded aluminum components. Scandium can significantly increase strength and reduce grain size.
2. Used in some sports equipment, including baseball bats, lacrosse sticks, bicycle frames, and related components.
3. Used in bearing assembly, ballast, casting, step soldering, and radiation shielding.
